I have had a long association with the PMR business, originally professional sales and service; but have always had an eye to recycle equipment into the amateur radio market. Professional PMR equipment is built to a very high standard and often provides an inexpensive way of getting onto the amateur VHF & UHF bands, especially now that programmable sets are freely available, avoiding the expense of crystals.
